Please Pray for Angela

A friend of Refuge and Hope has been taking care of a little girl named Angela for several weeks.Angela was found begging on the street of Kampala. She is severely malnourished as she is three years old, but wears the clothing size of a nine month old. She cannot talk or walk. For the last couple of weeks, she has had a bad cough. She was tested for several possible diseases. This past week, the doctors found out that is TB positive.
This prognosis was found at the same time the government ordered Angela to be transferred back to her community in Karamojung. The purpose of her relocation is to be reunited with her mother, whose whereabouts are unknown. Since Angela's mother is not in the picture, getting treatment for Angela is a very difficult process. The Ugandan government grants automatic custody to a parent who is living unless they formerly give up their rights or are proved to be deceased. Thus, Refuge and Hope and the friend is currently trying to gain rights to place Angela in housing that would administer the sixth month long treatment and provide rehabilitation for her malnourishment.
This past week, an orphanage is Jinja who works with children who are malnourished said that they would be willing to take a TB positive child. This was a major praise as it is very difficult for NGOs to provide the necessary care and protection for the other children living at the orphanage. Please pray that government allows Angela to reside at the Jinja orphanage for treatment. If she does not recieve the treatment, this precious child will most likely not make it. Please also pray for her rehabilitation and health. Lastly, Angela has a seven year old brother who was also relocated back to Karamojung. There is an orphanage in Kampala that is also willing to take him if the government allows for him to be transferred. Please pray for God to provide a way for him to be able receive housing, food and schooling. Please also pray that Angela and her brother would be able to stay in close proximity to one another.

******** On September 2, Angela was transferred to her new home in Jinja where she will receive treatment for her TB and malnutrition. She will be housed in the same orphanage as her brother. We rejoice and give praise for God's provision for Angela. Thank you for your prayers*******
