Center of Hope

Center of Hope

English classes at the Center of Hope got off to a good start on April 22nd.
There is one Beginners ESL (English as a Second Language) class and an Intermediate class... and several people already signed up on a waiting list for the next term.

Having such a diverse ethnic mix makes for very interesting class discussions!!

Classes are taught twice a week for an hour and a half, which has brought complaints from the students..."we want MORE"

The beginners class is being taught by Suzie Livingstone, who is graciously volunteering her time. Suzie's family is here working for Aid Sudan, a Christian organization that works in Sudan and with Sudanese refugees. She brings a wealth of ESL experience to the classes.
Thank you Suzie!!!

CRAFTS
We are very thankful to have Trish Manarin as a volunteer to teach a crafts class.
Trish and family are here in Uganda working with the US Embassy.
Thank you Trish!!!

The crafts class is currently making flowers out of recycled soda cans. At the end of each month there will be an open house where the class can display what they have made and even sell their products.

We are especially excited that next term there will be a sewing class offered.
Thank you to Mary Jane Coffing for an amazing donation of sewing machines!!!
